The GenRad 1863 Megohmmeter is an ideal choice for production and testing of devices with up to 20Ω resistance. Unlike the adjustable 10V to 1090V test voltage of the GenRad / IET 1864, this model offers 5 fixed test voltages of 50V, 100V, 200V, 250V, and 500Vdc, making it more economical. Its calibration stability is maintained using a 4-transistor single-gain amplifier. The stable power supply and feedback voltage circuit minimize drift and time-consuming adjustments. Safety is ensured with a warning light activated by the test voltage. The maximum terminal current is limited to 5mA. A measure/charge/discharge switch is used for rapid charging and discharging of capacitive devices. The GenRad 1863 Megohmmeter features a bright range switch displaying direct meter readout and multipliers for each range and voltage, making it easy to use. It comes with a rugged, portable Flip-Tilt case that serves as a stand and protects the meter during transport and storage.
